Megan MacDonald Accordionist

Available for performing, session work and tuition.

Megan 's diverse repertoire from Scottish and world traditions, combined with sensitive and assured playing has seen her much in demand as a band member, session musician and tutor in Scotland’s traditional music scene.

Shortly after Megan began working in Glasgow’s rich music scene she met her bandmates from Eabhal and HEISK and picked up nominations in the Up and Coming Artist category of the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2018. Since the successful release of Eabhal's debut album, the band has toured all over the UK’s festival circuit and further afield to China, Europe and the USA. They have since released their second album ‘Aisling’ in May 2022, which they have toured extensively throughout the UK. Folk-fusion band HEISK have brought their party vibe to countless stages since their launch in 2018 including lively shows at Celtic Connections and Festival Interceltique de Lorient, and have recently released their grooving self titled album. Megan is also seen accompanying singers at the forefront of the Scottish folk scene in the Calum McIlroy Trio and with BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner Josie Duncan, and has worked as a deputy musician throughout her career with the esteemed Eddie Reader, Manran and Tannara.
